nWo

With The Four Horsemen being inducted in 2012 and D-Generation X going in the Hall in 2019, it’s time for the New World Order to get one last day in the spotlight. But not every single person ever involved in the nWo can go in — there wouldn’t be room for everyone up on the stage, and at one point it seemed like everyone signed to WCW was part of one or another nWo faction.

When talking about the New World Order for Hall of Fame purposes, the candidates for induction would be Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. In 2019, Bret Hart and Booker T joined Ric Flair as the only two-time inductees in the WWE Hall of Fame when The Hart Foundation and Harlem Heat were selected. It’s time to double that number of two-time inductees to six. Hogan, Hall and Nash are all already members of the Hall but they all deserve to join that exclusive club as part of this historic faction.

All the New World Order did was change the course of professional wrestling. Starting with Hall and his first invasion on WCW Monday Nitro, followed shortly thereafter by the arrival of Nash and cemented by the biggest heel turn in the history of the industry at Bash at the Beach in July 1996 by Hogan, the nWo became the biggest story in wrestling. They set off a chain of events that helped WCW beat WWE in the ratings for 83 straight weeks, thus making Vince McMahon step up his game, which would lead to WWE’s iconic Attitude Era. Sure, the faction would get way too many people involved and get completely out of hand, but the original version in all its glory was one of the best storylines the business has ever seen, forever changing the landscape of professional wrestling. That’s a Hall of Fame-worthy resume.
