Former WWE champion Bret Hart was attacked by a spectator during his WWE Hall of Fame speech on Saturday.

In a disgusting display of conduct, someone from the crowd ran into the ring and tackled WWE athlete Bret Hart during his WWE Hall of Fame speech on Saturday. The fan is seen grabbing Hart around the waist before the screen went black. When the cameras came back they panned out to the crowd as security removed the attacker.

Hart was being inducted as one half of the Hart Foundation alongside the late Jim Neidhart and was in the process of speaking to the crowd when the man attacked him from behind. Once the man was removed Hart continued his speech and did not address the incident.

The fans in attendance booed after the attempted attack on Hart as a large group of humanity tries to subdue the attack and get the man who jumped the barrier away from the WWE Hall of Famer.

This is an ugly scene for one of the marquee events on the WWE calendar, ahead of WrestleMania and yet another awful thing to happen to Hart by the WWE.

Hart is considered to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time; Sky Sports noted that his legacy is that of “one of, if not the greatest, to have ever graced the squared circle.”

“The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be” is a multiple-time former WWE champion whose sharpshooter was one of the best finishing moves in professional wrestling history.

Let’s hope nothing like this ever happens again and hope it won’t be a black eye for what promises to be one of the best WrestleMania’s in recent memory, headlined by Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.
