Watch the moment where South Carolina kicker Parker White found out he was being put on scholarship at the spring game. It’ll make you cry.
College football spring games are largely a spectacle for the fans who are in attendance and gives them a small taste of the game and players they’ve missed for several months. It’s not really that significant in the grand scheme, but it certainly was for South Carolina kicker Parker White who found out he earned a scholarship at the Gamecocks spring game on Saturday afternoon.

No matter how many varieties I’ve seen of this video, I will never get tired of seeing football players find out they are being put on scholarship. It’s enough to make the person with the coldest heart flash a smile, and dare I say, shed a tear too.
It’s the culmination of years and years of hard work, dedication and countless sacrifices by the player and the player’s parents that finally pays off.

What makes this extra special for White is that his family was there in Williams-Brice Stadium to share in this moment he and his family will never forget. And it happened five months to the date from his game-winning kick beat Missouri.
So while the stats that come out of spring games are largely meaningless, there is one big stat that can’t be overlooked.

Kudos goes to South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp and his staff for giving White a scholarship and taking the financial burden of paying for his cost of attendance off his and his family’s plate.
