5 players the Green Bay Packers should move up to draft
3. Quinnen Williams
Williams isn’t getting a ton of publicity in the pre-draft process, but no one thinks he’ll be anything less than an above average starter during his NFL career. Scouts who really buy into Williams as a prospect think he has a great chance to be a Pro Bowler for a long time.
At the very least, he’d give the Packers a significant upgrade over anything they currently have on their defensive line. Dean Lowry, Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels sound more like a law firm than an intimidating NFL front.
Williams could potentially play any of the spots in Green Bay’s front three. His current 6-foot-3, 303 pound frame might be a little light to hold up against the run at nose tackle, but he’s got the burst to control the edge at either defensive end spot.
The price to move up to draft Williams would be roughly the same as it would be for Allen. Green Bay would likely need to get to No. 3. If their scouting department believes Williams can free their linebackers up to make plays it could be a move worth making.
