Each year, players and picks are dealt leading up to and on draft day. Here’s a look at some trades that teams won’t make, but that they should.

There are sure to be players and picks on the move come draft day. When interrogating the these scenarios we have to ask two questions:

1. Why it should happen?

2. Why it won’t happen?

Let’s get right into it, with the half-dozen trades that should happen, but likely won’t.

1. Even if Tom Brady wants to play until he’s 45, its only three more seasons. The worst case scenario for the Patriots here would be they trade Rosen in a couple of years and move on to a new project. Arizona should feel fortunate to get a first round pick in return.

2. Someone is going to overpay for Rosen, and it won’t be New England. Despite all conventional wisdom that begs teams not to do it, someone is going to give up a first-round pick for him.

1. The Alex Smith injury is devastating, but Washington must move on. If they have identified one of the top two quarterbacks in this draft as a franchise guy – they must sell the farm to go get him.

2. Snyder likely won’t pull the trigger on giving up this many draft assets. He’s more likely to roll with a Josh Rosen trade or something similar, and that seems to be the way its trending, too.  Even if they don’t land Rosen, they’ll probably stand pat to take someone such as Drew Lock or Daniel Jones here.
