Seattle struggled to get a pulse out of the tight end position in 2018, with the group’s leading receiver being Nick Vannett with a whopping 269 yards and three touchdowns.

After injuries to 2018 pick Will Dissly and Vannett’s impending free agency following next season, it stands to reason that John Schneider could again dip into the tight end pool of the 2019 draft class. Thankfully for Seattle, the tight end group is one of the deepest position groups in the draft and if they wind up missing out on some of the names off the board in the first two rounds, they could wind up with a player like LSU’s Foster Moreau on Day 3.

Moreau (6-foot-4, 253 pounds) has had an excellent pre-draft process, surprising some as one of the most athletic-testing tight ends at February’s NFL Combine. He has excellent tenacity and technique as an in-line blocker and while he’s a bit clunky as a route-runner, the athleticism to develop that part of his game is certainly there.

Even former Seahawks scout and current Senior Bowl executive Jim Nagy has shown plenty of love for Moreau, and I think it’s very likely that Moreau could be on their radar in the fourth or fifth rounds, depending on how the tight end board falls on draft day.
