Nothing ever goes according to plan and the 2018-19 NBA season had its share of discouraging surprises. Here are the biggest disappointments from this season.

The 2018-19 NBA season was filled with its fair share of pleasant surprises, from the shockingly competitive Sacramento Kings to Paul George’s evolution into a top-five MVP candidate.

Not everyone got in on the fun, though.

Some teams and players fell far short of preseason expectations, raising questions about their ceiling moving forward. Others did lasting damage to their reputation by making a series of ill-advised moves.

Preseason over/under lines can help identify some of the NBA’s biggest underachievers from 2018-19, but where’s the fun in that? This league thrives on drama, as Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving has noted in recent months.

As such, disappointments come in all shapes and sizes, from teams and players to head coaches and front office executives.

The following five stand out as the biggest from the 2018-19 season.
