College baseball rankings: FanSided Top 25 – UCLA remains at No. 1
By Ethan Lee
After the UCLA Bruins baseball team took care of the Stanford Cardinal, they have solidified their spot atop the FanSided college baseball rankings.
The UCLA Bruins were challenged by the Stanford Cardinal this past weekend in one of the most exciting college baseball series so far this season. However, the Bruins were able to get on past the Stanford Cardinal despite dropping the first game of the series. And because UCLA came out on top, the Bruins are still No. 1 in the FanSided College Baseball Top 25.
The second best college baseball team in the country, at the moment, is Georgia. UGA, as a team, has been surprising folks so far this season, pushing through opponents to make its way all the way up into the top five. And then, by taking a crucial SEC series from the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Bulldogs have moved all the way up to No. 2.
North Carolina State comes in at No. 3 this week with Stanford right behind the Wolfpack at No. 4. Oregon State rounds out the top five by ranking in at No. 5 this week.

Teams on the rise
UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine are two teams that are worth keeping an eye on at the moment. Respectively, the two are ranked No. 5 and then No. 64 in the latest RPI rankings.
While UC Irvine’s RPI standing isn’t all that impressive, the Anteaters are 21-5 on the season and will get a shot to take on the No. 1 team in the country soon. The UCLA Bruins will host the Anteaters on Thursday, giving UC Irvine an opportunity to get some national attention.
Following that matchup, the Anteaters will head up to Santa Barbara, CA. to face the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.
That should be an intriguing series to watch.
Teams sliding down
Florida and Florida State have both completely dropped out of the rankings. The Seminoles just dropped a series to the Miami Hurricanes and the Ole Miss Rebels swept the Gators seemingly with ease.
Like the upcoming series between UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine, the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles will play each other soon. Except this is a one game, midweek matchup on Tuesday. And it probably won’t be as interesting to watch.
