2019 NFL mock draft: Dwayne Haskins heads to Giants
By Brad Weiss

The Washington Redskins looked to be headed to the playoffs last season, as they held a lead in the NFC East at the midseason point. However, their season went down the drain when quarterback Alex Smith had his leg snapped by the Houston Texans, and they ended up on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
Heading into next season, Smith has already been ruled out for the 2019 campaign, and they brought in Case Keenum to be their starter this Fall. However, Keenum is not the long-term answer at the position, and if Drew Lock is still available at No. 15, the Redskins have to make him their selection.
Lock is a guy who is going to be called in the first round, and he would be a perfect fit for this Redskins offense. He could learn the game behind Keenum in year one, gaining tips from a true veteran leader in the league, and then take over in 2020 if Smith is not able to return to the NFL.
Washington is an interesting team heading into 2019, as they have the talent to compete, but it will all depend on Keenum. They can go a number of different ways with this pick at No. 15, and Lock could be gone by then, but if he is still available, head coach Jay Gruden will have his next franchise quarterback, if he is still the coach after this upcoming season.
