Rashan Gary. 16. player. 87. . Edge. Michigan

The Carolina Panthers lost a huge leader on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, as future Hall of Famer Julius Peppers has decided to retire. Peppers was a guy who led this team on and off the field, and it is going to be hard to replace a guy who brought so much to the team, and the community.

Peppers, during his long NFL career, was one of the better edge rushers in football, and the Panthers will need to replace his production. One player who could be available at No. 16 overall is Rashan Gary, an exciting defensive lineman from Michigan, who can play all over the defensive line.

Carolina is a team that will be fun to watch next season, especially if they can get a healthy Cam Newton back under center. Newton had to be sat down towards the end of last season, as he had issues with his throwing shoulder, but if he is healthy for 2019, the Panthers should challenge for the playoffs.

Last season, Carolina lost seven in a row in the second half of the year, winning only their season finale against New Orleans through their final eight games. Gary joining this defense would be a major upgrade, and with one of the better running backs in football, Carolina could be a team to beat in a tough NFC South in 2019.
