The Philadelphia Eagles made another strong run to the playoffs last season,Ā  this only after Nick Foles replaced the injured Carson Wentz once again. This season, the team will not have the luxury of having Foles waiting in the wings, as he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars to be their new starting quarterback.

For the Eagles, they made the decision to roll with Wentz moving forward, and that does make a lot of sense. They traded away a ton of draft capital to move up and get him a few years ago at No. 2 overall, and he has proven that when he is healthy, he can be a very productive quarterback.

Heading into draft season, running back looked to be the biggest need for the Eagles, after having one of the worst rushing attacks in football last season. However, the team went out and traded for Jordan Howard, and will now turn their focus to the defensive backfield with their first round pick this April.

That player could end up being Johnathan Abram, a tremendously talented safety from Mississippi State. Philadelphia has invest in youth at cornerback in recent drafts, and Abram is a guy who could slide in next to starting lineup as a rookie, bolstering one of the weaker position groups on this roster.
