There is no doubt that Jacobs is a talented runner and will be the first running back taken in the NFL Draft.  It doesn’t seem likely that the position is seen as valuable enough, unless your someone like Ezekiel Elliott, to justify making a top 10 or 15 selection there.

Jacobs might be a great running back in the NFL. However, his relatively small stature (5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 depending one where you’re reading) will give teams some pause when it comes to drafting the former Alabama standout. In addition, injuries, and a low work load at Alabama will give teams justification in sliding him down the boards.

He also did not seem to be particularly phenomenal at his pro day. He was … average. Average running back prospects don’t merit a high draft pick. The best-case scenario would be to go at 24th-overall to Oakland. However, a Friday selection isn’t out the question.

Jacobs might get lucky and sneak into the back of the first round, but there’s a real chance he’s sitting in the green room well into the second night.
