3 reasons Patrick Mahomes will repeat as MVP in 2019

M-V-P!
It was evident within a game or two last season that Mahomes had everything you want in a quarterback, almost like he was a scientific creation in a lab: huge arm, great accuracy, mobility, height, strength, intelligence, and competitiveness. On top of all of that, he is apparently a great teammate. If there were a re-draft of every player in the NFL, with every player available, Mahomes would be the first pick, hands down.
Still, even if you’re an amazing player, winning the MVP is tough; a lot has to go right. So what might lead one to this seemingly crazy assumption that Mahomes will win the MVP award for the second consecutive year? Many understandably point out a string of negatives: defenses will have more tape on him, he no longer has Kareem Hunt, they lost their starting center Mitch Morse, Tyreek Hill might face a suspension or worse, and Mahomes is due for some touchdown regression.

And while it’s true that defenses will have more tape on him, he doesn’t exactly have a habit of copying what he’s done in the past. He has a habit of surprising his opponents with things they’ve never seen anyone else do before.
And don’t forget: within that football-savant-mind, he also has a year of tape on everyone else…
