With the No. 1 pick in the 2019 Draft, the Las Vegas Aces selected Jackie Young from Notre Dame, headlining a fantastic new crop of WNBA talent.

The women’s basketball calendar runs quite a bit tighter than the men’s. Just three days ago, the women’s NCAA season ended, with Baylor beating Notre Dame to secure a National Championship. Tonight is the 2019 WNBA Draft and the season will tip off in just over six weeks. It’s a whirlwind for transition, particularly for players from Baylor and Notre Dame who’ve barely had time to finish icing knees.

Those two teams did account for four of the first 12 picks in the draft, with Notre Dame guard Jackie Young going No. 1 overall. She’ll join the WNBA’s two most recent No. 1 picks — Kelsey Plum and A’ja Wilson — with the up-and-coming Las Vegas Aces.  Full results for all three rounds of the draft are below.
