Hello and welcome to Fantasy CPR’s MLB DFS Weather Report. Today’s post will cover weather forecasts for both the early and late slate. 10 games total. As expected yesterday, the weather knocked out the Braves and Colorado game. Somehow, through sleet and a winter chill, both Chicago teams managed to get their games in.

Are you new to Fantasy CPR MLB DFS Weather Report? No worries, check out the link to my Weather Report Reference Sheet, explaining what you can expect for each daily weather post.

The first two games kick off at 11:35 A.M. in Baltimore and Cincinnati. There are five games on the early slate and five more for the late slate. The weather around the country seems like it will hold up except for a potential thunderstorm scare in Chicago. A few match-ups with the wind at their backs should be nice for high scoring potential so check out down below for more details!

Early Slate – 5 Games

Athletics @ Orioles  First pitch – 11:35 A.M.

  • Temperature: 53-56°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 6-7 MPH West
  • Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
  • Humidity: 37%

Decent temperature and 0% chance of rain keeps this game open for business, especially if you like beating up on the Orioles in DFS. The wind is blowing out towards the left field foul pole at Camden Yards, but just a light gust at 6-7 MPH. This makes the right-handed hitters more appealing over lefties, so all you Khris Davis Truthers can come out! Looking forward to another 40-HR season with a .247 AVG.

Marlins @ Reds  First pitch – 11:35 A.M.

  • Temperature: 67°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 18 MPH North
  • Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
  • Humidity: 57% at first pitch and decreasing throughout

I don’t imagine many will be on this game today so we’ll keep it short here on these two bottom-feeding offenses. Middling humidity at 57% around first pitch but will decrease as the game moves forward. If the wind were blowing out it might be another story in this hitter friendly ballpark. However, 18 MPH wind heading North may help fans sitting on the 3rd base foul line behind the dugout earn some souvenirs.

Indians @ Tigers  First pitch – 12:10 P.M.

  • Temperature: 43°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 16 MPH North-West
  • Precipitation: 34% chance of rain at first pitch decreasing to 20% throughout
  • Humidity: 60% humidity

The wind will be blowing almost directly into the face of hitters this afternoon. The 34% chance of rain may scare some off, but the chances of rain creeps lower throughout the day. They should be able to get this game in today in Detroit. Could be in for a nice pitchers duel between Shane Bieber and Spencer Turnbull, both with pretty good swing and miss stuff and the help of wind keeping the ball in the ballpark.

Mariners @ Royals  First pitch – 12:15 P.M.

  • Temperature: 60°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 23 MPH North-East
  • Precipitation: 5% and cloudy
  • Humidity: 34% humidity

Ding Ding Ding! Those are home runs you’re hearing. 23 MPH wind directly towards center field. If they’re in the lineup, there’s a chance at the ball leaving the park. I’m going to be all over this game today in Kansas City. I would tend to favor SEA over KC, as Mike Leake takes the hill to ward off as many fly balls as possible with his sinking stuff. Jorge Lopez on the other hand, 45.7% fly ball rate. HELLO MARINERS!

Dodgers @ Cardinals  First pitch – 12:15 P.M.

  • Temperature: 76-79°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 23 MPH North and increasing throughout
  • Precipitation: 7% at first pitch and increasing to 22% by 2:00 P.M.
  • Humidity: 49% and decreasing

Another game with nice temperature in the mid to upper 70’s and wind blowing out to left and left-center. There is a slight chance of rain around 22% later in the game, but it shouldn’t be enough to cause concern.  We’ll see if these pitchers can keep the ball in the ballpark, however it won’t be easy! Humidity remains fairly low and decreasing as the game goes on.

Late Slate – 5 Games

Blue Jays @ Red Sox  First pitch – 6:10 P.M.

  • Temperature: 51°F at first pitch
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 6-7 MPH North-West
  • Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
  • Humidity: 33%

No rain today in Fenway Park, with a very light wind heading towards the Green Monster’s foul pole. You may be doing your best John Candy impressions from “Rookie of the Year” on fly balls to deep left, “Stay fair…Go foul…Stay fair…Go foul…It’s fair….It’s foul!”

Mets @ Braves  First pitch – 6:20 P.M.

  • Temperature: 76°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 8 MPH North-West
  • Precipitation: 4%
  • Humidity: 50%

8 MPH wind directly towards left field in Atlanta this evening. A comfortable 76°F at at first pitch, should be a lovely night for baseball. Especially if you’re right-handed! The wind won’t help much at that low-speed, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Pirates @ Cubs  First pitch – 7:05 P.M.

  • Temperature: 53°F but will feel ∼10° lower
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 22 MPH North-East
  • Precipitation: 10% at first pitch but jumps to 53% by 8:00 P.M. with chance of thunderstorms
  • Humidity: 75%

Crazy to think that both Chicago teams got their games in yesterday through sleet, rain, cold and wind. It will be slightly warmer at Wrigley tonight but not much. Don’t be fooled by the 53° temperature as it will feel about 10° lower. On top of that, there’s a decent chance of rain and thunderstorms on the horizon about an hour into the game. That’s enough to scare me off with possible delays or being unable to finish the game due to potential lightning in the area. On the bright side, wind is blowing 22 MPH directly to center!

Padres @ Diamondbacks  First pitch – 8:40 P.M.

  • Temperature: 72°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 7 MPH South-East
  • Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
  • Humidity: 14%

The 9-million pound roof will be open tonight in Phoenix! A healthy 72° should feel nice with no rain in the forecast. Humidity is very low at 14% and wind will be blowing directly in the faces of hitters.

Rockies @ Giants  First pitch – 8:45 P.M.

  • Temperature: 54°F but will feel more like 48°F
  • Wind Speed and Direction: 12 MPH South-East
  • Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
  • Humidity: 75%

This could be a slightly sneaky late night in San Francisco. Normally a pitcher-friendly ballpark, will have 12 MPH wind heading to right-center field. Once again, the lefties will be seeking out McCovey Cove. The real feel of the temperature is expected to be slightly lower than the actual temperature, with decent to high humidity at 75%.
