MLB Bets To Win – Friday April 12 – Oakland Wins!
By John Fazio
Good day from MLB Bets central. Yesterday was another winner and almost a big one had Toronto held on in the 9th.
MLB Bets won 1.37 units on Thursday. Using 1 unit per selection and allowing for the lay and take, we are now ahead +14.86 units on the season.
Friday starts a new set of series and MLB Bets likes to analyze this first game trying to get a handle on how the 2 teams are matching up. The bets presented in this article reflect how teams have advanced and are under valued in respect to the line.
Let’s see if another winning day is in store for us. All times Eastern:
Angels (+1.40) envelop the Cubs, 2:20 pm
Last year Chicago owned Los Angeles but MLB Bets has been pounding the table on the Halos this season. We are convinced the managerial change created a much better climate for winning.
After an unexpected (not to you) sweep of Milwaukee, the Angels take their act on the road and should be able to handle the Cubs in the only afternoon game on the board. Cole Hamels is the most likely starter for Chicago. Although not confirmed, we will go with analyzing him.
Tyler Skaggs (L) goes for the Angels having started 2 games earning a 2.45 ERA. His most recent game was the best, pitching 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. Cole Hamels throws for the Cubs posting 1 quality start in 2 attempts.
MLB Bets likes the Angels as a team believing they are still under valued. If they keep playing well it won’t be long before their odds will shift and the value will be gone, but for now they are still a play. Should they win this game MLB Bets will most likely stay with them on Saturday.
MLB Bets To Win – A’s defeat Rangers
Oakland (-1.16) rolls over Texas, 8:05 pm
This projection is made on how the teams are playing this year and last year. The A’s have dominated Texas, winning the last 9 of 10 games they have played and being perfect in Texas.
Mike Fiers (R) goes for Oakland. He has a lofty 5.94 ERA and is now about to pitch in arguably the best hitters park in baseball except for Wrigley Field when the wind is blowing out.
However, with Drew Smyly (L) going for the Rangers, it all evens out and more. Over 2 starts he’s pitched 6+ innings allowing 10 hits accruing a 7.11 ERA. Yikes. If this does turn into a shootout MLB Bets believes Oakland has the bigger guns.
To bolster the A’s case, they are 10-3 in Fiers last 13 starts. Oakland is also 5-1 recently against a lefty. By contrast, Texas is 6-16 when going against a right hander and 0-4 on their first home game following a long road trip.
San Diego (-1.22) mystifies Arizona, 9:40 pm
The Padres continue to surprise and roll along like front-runners. Arizona is not playing terrible but appears to be a step behind.
The pitching match-up today solidly favors San Diego. This why they are in the unusual position of being favored on the road.
Chris Paddack (R) checks in for the Padres having pitched very well in his first 2 starts. He has earned an impressive 1.04 ERA, and while he himself has 2 no decisions his team is 2-0. He has allowed only 3 hits in 8 2/3 innings of work.
Contrast that with the Diamondbacks starter Luke Weaver (R) who has a hefty ERA of 6.75. He has allowed 11 hits in 9 1/3 innings.
San Diego is 4-1 in away games against right handers while Arizona is 1-4 against right handers. This is enough of an edge for MLB Bets to commit San Diego laying small juice on the road to be a play.
MLB Bets To Win Recap For Friday April 12:
Angels +1.40
Oakland -1.16
San Diego -1.22
Since first games of a series are the most unpredictable, sometimes it is very profitable to place a round robin on viable underdogs as a flyer.

Should this type of bet be lucky enough to hit, a very small amount of money could return a lot. To be clear these teams are not official recommendations from MLB Bets but they are feasible plays to try. Those teams would include:
Pittsburgh +1.60
NY Mets +1.03
Milwaukee +1.39
Toronto +1.14
Kansas City +1.35
Seattle +1.31
The larger dogs (Baltimore and the White Sox) would be a great hit but sure seem outmatched. For the bold, they can also be included.
Of note: Seattle may become an official play from MLB Bets should the line move slightly higher and will be put on twitter if so. While the pitching ERA between the starters favors Houston, Wade LeBlanc (L) is 2-0 while his counterpart Wade Miley (L) from the Astros is 1-1.
In addition the Mariners are 7-0 against the American League West and 4-0 against a left-handed starter. Also with Wade LeBlanc starting at home Seattle is 17-4 in the last 21 games. This should be quite a fun series to watch.
