The final weeks of the NBA calendar in April, with teams dreaming of “1-2-3 Cancun,” are filled with outlandish statistical achievements. Several players will post career highs that they will never again come close to approaching. With playoff positioning sewn up or lottery positioning at the forefront, players on the fringes recognize this is the time to get theirs.

The brave souls who run their fantasy basketball leagues into the final days of the season know that Mario Hezonja could post a monstrous triple double or they may get burned by Delon Wright posting 26 points 14 assists and 10 rebounds without a turnover. And while certainly an argument can be made (or should be made) that these gaudy box scores in unimportant games don’t matter, sometimes they do. MarShon Brooks last year turned his April explosion into a guaranteed contract. Jamal Crawford just became the oldest player to score over 50 points in a game, a very real record that counts even though it occurred in contest that felt like a mix of an All-Star game and a Globetrotters exhibition.

So in the ridiculous spirit of Fastbreak Breakfast and with no desire to add another “Pick your All-NBA teams” podcast to the world, we decide to name our All-NBA team from these meaningless games. Helping in the task are comedians Sean Keane and Joey Devine from the Roundball Rock podcast (who just launched their very own Patreon). Whether your team is gearing up for the playoffs or headed to another uncertain offseason of rebuilding, you can enjoy this episode and see who made our All-NBA team for just the month of April.

Fastbreak Breakfast is a podcast for serious NBA fans that is incredibly not serious. All episodes are available on Apple Podcasts and Soundcloud or any other major podcast service.

If you want to gain access to exclusive Fastbreak Breakfast bonus content including extra full episodes, go to Patreon.com/Fastbreakbreakfast.  We believe in supporting the content we enjoy and also building relationships with our biggest fans, and all of that is accomplished at Patreon.com/Fastbreakbreakfast.

At the very least, consider writing us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts!
