Well, we now know about the ‘secret project’ Donald Glover and Rihanna were working on, and here’s how you can catch Guava Island.

Donald Glover (formally Childish Gambino) may be one of the main stars of Coachella, but taking an equal bigger stage at the “Grandaddy of Music Festivals” will be Guava Island, a film created by Glover which also stars pop queen Rihanna.

Ever since it was announced that Glover and Rihanna were teaming up for a major project, rumors and theories were swirling all over the place. Now, we know what that “secret project” was, a movie that should be the talk of the festival.

Shot in Cuba, the film, which was directed by Glover’s partner-in-crime Hiro Murai, is being pegged as a tropical love story. “We live in a paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here,” Glover said of Guava Island to Vulture.

On Nov. 25, a small teaser was released, and though it didn’t show much, it only raised people’s expectations about the project Glover and Rihanna were collaborating on. With Coachella coming up, and Glover set to perform, the time may have seemed right for him to premiere the film. According to Vulture, the film will be shown all weekend in a “specially made theater,” which we can presume will resemble the paradise shown within the film.

Only those who have Coachella tickets will be able to view the movie, but don’t be bummed out, as there will be another way folks who won’t be in Indio can view Guava Island.

On Saturday, April 13 at 12:01 a.m., you can view Guava Island for free on Amazon. But, you’ll have to catch it before 6 p.m. that same day, as by that time, it will go behind the paywall and be exclusive to Amazon Prime members only. Also, you can catch the film streamed on Twitch at 5 p.m. on that same Saturday.
