Today’s slate once again is void of crazy weather as of now. Other than cold temperatures in Minnesota, we should be able to make it through the early slate without many issues. We could see a sprinkling here and there out East, but nothing too severe. The wind looks like it will help in most of these games as well, which makes your pick of the litter that much greater for your lineup.
MLB DFS Weather Report for April 13th – Early Slate
Orioles @ Red Sox 12:05 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 63°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 10 MPH NNE
- Precipitation: 34% at first pitch but dropping
- Humidity: Mid 60%
We could see a bit of rain around the first pitch, but this should not pose a threat as that 34% drops throughout the day. It should be a comfortable temperature for baseball with the wind blowing directly out to center field.
White Sox @ Yankees 12:05 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 69°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 7-8 MPH NNE
- Precipitation: 32% at first pitch but dropping
- Humidity: 61% at first pitch, drops dramatically every hour
Temperatures will reach nearly 70° in The Bronx with a slight wind blowing to left field. It’s too bad the Yankees have all these injuries as Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge could have benefitted from the wind helper. We saw what Eloy Jimenez was able to pull off last night, and could see some of the same from right-handed power hitters.
Tigers @ Twins 1:10 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 37°
- Wind Speed and Direction: 8 MPH E
- Precipitation: No rain in forecast
- Humidity: Mid 50%
It’s going to be another scorcher in Minneapolis. By scorcher, I mean it’s still Winter there. You’ve got to wonder whose bright idea it was to put an outdoor baseball stadium in Minnesota. At the very least, they could have added a retractable roof. If hitters can barrel-up the ball, they should be able to take advantage of the wind heading straight to center field. Just have to hope to hit it cleanly, otherwise they’ll feel the tingle in their hands for a few innings.

Angels @ Cubs 1:20 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 51°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 11 MPH ENE
- Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
- Humidity: Mid 30%
The Cubs pitching has come alive just in time for this game. The wind is blowing out to right-center field. A lineup led by 1,000-year old Albert Pujols isn’t so frightening as Mike Trout stayed home for this series dealing with an injury. We will see if the Cubs hitters can stay hot. This includes a new and improved Jason Heyward with new-found power.
Rays @ Blue Jays 2:07 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 54°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 14-15 MPH ENE
- Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
- Humidity: Low 40%
The roof should be open in Toronto with no rain in the forecast. A healthy wind will help push the ball towards right field throughout the game at 14-15 MPH. Lefties will do what they can to loft the ball and see if the wind can push it over the fence.
Pirates @ Nationals 3:05 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 76°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 4-5 MPH NW
- Precipitation: 20%
- Humidity: 50%
It will feel about 6-7°warmer in D.C. than the temperature calls for. It looks like wind won’t be much of a factor at just 4-5 MPH. But it is worth noting that it is heading in the direction of left field. A 20% chance of rain doesn’t seem to be threatening, but it’s worth keeping an eye on before lineups lock.
Rockies @ Giants 3:05 P.M. CST
- Temperature: 66°F
- Wind Speed and Direction: 9 MPH E
- Precipitation: No rain in the forecast
- Humidity: Mid to High 50%
Another lovely afternoon in San Francisco with temperatures sitting in the mid-60’s. Still can’t figure out why I stayed in the Midwest. The wind is blowing to center field at 9 MPH. This game is going to be tricky though, so buyer beware. This was one of the late games on yesterday’s slate and went 18-innings. There’s two ways to look at this. Each team utilized their entire bullpen. But with an afternoon start, we may see a few regular starters get the day off.
