With another signature shooting performance, Stephen Curry has become the NBA’s all time leader in playoff 3-pointers.

Stephen Curry was everything for the Warriors in their 17-point Game 1 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. He poured in 38 points, snagged 15 rebounds and hit 8-of-12 3-pointers. That final made 3 was a special one, pushing Curry past Ray Allen to the top of the NBA’s all-time leaderboard for 3-pointers made in the playoffs.

Curry needed just 91 games to make it to the top of the list. For comparison, Allen needed 171 games to make his 385 playoff 3-pointers. LeBron James, third on the list with 370 playoff 3-pointers, has played in 239 playoff games.

Curry already owns a slew of 3-point records and will almost certainly add a few more before he hangs them up. Next season he’ll likely pass Reggie Miller for second on the list of made 3-pointers in the regular season. He probably won’t pass Ray Allen for the tops spot on that last next season but, at his current pace, he’ll definitely get there in the 2020-21 season.

The only thing that could really threaten his dominance on the 3-point record books is teammate Klay Thompson. He already owns the record for most 3-pointers in a single game, 14, which he accomplished earlier this year against the Bulls. Thompson is just sixth on the playoff 3-pointers list, just 81 3s behind Curry. He’s also 16th on the regular season list and, at some point, it’s feasible that these two are essentially 1-2 at the top of both lists.

Curry and Thompson will get a chance to add to their absurd shooting totals on Monday night, April 15, when Game 2 against the Clippers tips off. The Warriors are looking dangerous as ever and if they keep winning these playoffs could turn out be pretty short.
