NBA Bets – Updated Playoff Edition – Brooklyn Rules!
By John Fazio
Good day from NBA Bets central. Let’s review the Sunday NBA playoff games but hey – How ’bout them Nets!!
Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers, Monday 8 pm
NBA Bets to win was as you know all over Brooklyn without a healthy Joel Embiid – and he is no where close to 100%. Even with just playing 24 of the 48 minutes in the game, he scored 22 points and collected 15 rebounds!
He is trying as hard as he can but can only do so much with the pain in his leg. Butler provided 36 points and snagged 9 rebounds but this 1 1/2 man show is not cutting it for Philly. The Nets have a much more balanced attack spread out over starters and bench players.
If Embiid is not better health wise than he was today by their next game on Monday, Brooklyn will be a play again. In fact, taking them right now at +8 is a worthwhile flyer. NBA Bets is guessing Joel will not be near 100% again and it is a small possibility the doctors won’t let him play at all.
Brooklyn was getting 5-1 to win this series and that seemed like the bargain of these 8 match-ups. So far so good. These were the plays suggested by NBA Bets in the first article:
Brooklyn +7 or better if line is available
Brooklyn in the series at 5-1 or better
San Antonio +6
San Antonio in the series at +2.05 or better.
Oklahoma City at Portland Trailblazers, Sunday 3:30 pm
This appears to NBA Bets as a good shot for Portland to win this series at the current line of +1.35. This is against the grain from what most people are expecting out of game 1 and the entire series. They do have a point.

The Thunder swept the 4 game regular season series from Portland. Not only that, they covered every game as well. It’s no wonder 73% of public money is being placed on game 1 – OKC +3.
Paul George was very instrumental along with of course Westbrook in those victories and covers. In the last game at Portland he outplayed Russell Westbrook in total effectiveness, scoring 5 fewer points but grabbing 7 more rebounds and dishing out 3 more assists.
The point here is George is not 100% healthy. He may not be near 100% healthy. He has publicly stated: “as much as I can get it 100% as possible or close to it, you can expect me out there Sunday.” That is according to many news outlets including fantasycpr and NBCSports where this quote was taken.
However I can tell you as a former quarterback (college only) having all the heart and game in the world cannot get you by a true injury. It’s just not possible. Only Paul George and his doctors (well maybe just Paul) know the true extent of his injury and the pain involved playing thru it.
In any case, being as he was so important in the regular season against Portland, any digression is a serious issue. NBA Bets says Portland is a play on the series +1.35. Should the Blazers win the first 2 games of this series and George is feeling better, we will look to cover.
NBA Bets To Win Recap
Portland +1.35 in the series against Oklahoma City
Brooklyn +8 in game 2 over Philadelphia
