The Boston Celtics host the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon for Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. Here’s how to watch this game online via live streaming.
This is obviously not where the Boston Celtics were hoping to be but even with a season full of inconsistency and apparent chemistry problems, they have everything they need to make a run at the title. First up, the Celtics get the benefit of playing a Pacers team without their best player.
The Pacers have been impressive without Victor Oladipo, with Bojan Bogdanovic picking up a lot of the scoring and creation load and Myles Turner developing into a fringe Defensive Player of the Year candidate. They have balance and depth but they don’t quite have the top-level talent to hang with the Celtics at their best.
Marcus Smart will miss the first round with a torn oblique muscle but Boston can plug either Gordon Hayward or Jaylen Brown into the starting rotation. In addition, Terry Rozier has been playing well and seems ready to step into a bigger role off the bench. Given the sparkling playoff run Boston went on last year, they have to feel good about their chances. Game 1 will give us a good look at the individual matchups that will define the series but, on paper, almost all of them go in the Celtics favor.
