Pete Dunne to Raw

Prior to losing the WWE United Kingdom Championship to WALTER at NXT TakeOver: New York, The Bruiserweight Pete Dunne had reigned as champion over the brand for 685 days. For 685 days no one was in his class. Some challengers gave him more fits than others, and his trio of matches against British Strong Style compatriot Tyler Bate was some of the finest work in the WWE, but no one could hang with Pete Dunne.

No disrespect to NXT UK, but The Bruiserweight has long outgrown the brand. He’s a Superstar and not just in the WWE sense, but by the very definition. When Dunne is on screen, you cannot take your eyes off him, which is why WWE needs to put more eyes on him and move him to Monday Night Raw.

Dunne is without question one of the best performers under WWE contract. It’s hard to recall the last bad match he’s had. How about the last mediocre one? Dunne is a prodigious talent, and, at just 25 years of age, could be a cornerstone for the future of the WWE. Imagine some of the potential classics Dunne could have against Raw talent like Seth Rollins, Drew McIntire or Finn Balor.

The one potential obstacle to Dunne becoming a Monday night mainstay is his size; He’s only billed at 5-foot-10 and has wrestled on 205 Live before. However, as anyone who watched his TakeOver match against WALTER should tell you, having seen him hit his finisher on, and powerbomb, the 300-pounder, those concerns are completely unwarranted.
