NBA Bets Playoff Edition – Monday April 15 – Brooklyn Again
By John Fazio
Good day from NBA Bets to win central. Brooklyn looks to keep it going while Philadelphia looks to right the ship.
NBA Bets so far this playoff season is 2-0 in straight bets and has positive equity in 3 series: Nets, Spurs and Blazers. Brooklyn +8 looks like another play so let’s talk about it.
Fatigue was the biggest factor in limiting the minutes of Joel Embiid and that is absolutely vital to the Nets continuing success. Joel only played 24 minutes due to the up and down fast paced style of Brooklyn that takes him the full length of the court to defend.
Embiid is a great player and extremely effective when he’s in the game. Expect Brooklyn to use the same type of style to wear Embiid out and limit his minutes. If the Nets can do that again, then the +8 they are getting should be good.
Some teams are getting 2 days rest in between games 1 and 2. Not so here, which is another plus for the Nets. The quicker they get back on the court the better for them. It is unlikely Joel Embiid will improve his stamina that quickly. It’s either find a way to give him help so he can jog back on defense or watch the same scenario play out Monday.
It is also true Ben Simmons could help the 76ers a lot more here in game 2. However Jimmy Butler will negate that a bit as it’s unlikely he will have as great a game again today.
In any case, NBA Bets is sticking with the play of Brooklyn +8 and also sticking with the series bet which was taken at 5-1.
Now let’s look at a Tuesday game:
Are the Magic for real? NBA Bets says yes
Orlando +10 against Toronto, Tuesday April 16th 8 pm
The Magic put on a tremendous run to close out the regular season. Much speculation centered around this being a one-off that would not carry thru into the post season. Game one’s result begs to differ.

The Magic have proven they can play with Toronto but the betting line via the public does not agree. The Raptors opened an 8 1/2 point favorite and have been bet up to 9 1/2 with a couple of 10’s on 55% of the bets placed.
This seems a little high based on current play. It’s true the second game many times does not produce the same spread result as the first, but asking Toronto to cover 10 is a little ambitious given how well the dog is playing.
This line is more reflective of how most of the season played out between these teams. What woke Orlando up in the past 2-3 weeks is a mystery, but it is happening. The first game was also a 9 1/2 point Toronto favorite and when they lost, normally the oddsmaker would set the game higher because it is now considered a must win for the home team.
That did not happen – instead it was bet up there again. Time will tell which side is right.
NBA Bets Recap:
Brooklyn +8 Monday at 8 pm
Orlando +10 Tuesday at 8 pm
As far as the 3 series we are in, NBA Bets will update if it wants to close a position and lock up a win. It is extremely likely if the Nets win game 2 it will want to close the position at plus money and a great profit.
