NFL mock draft if underclassmen were eligible: Trevor Lawrence goes No. 1, Tua in top 5
11. Cincinnati Bengals – Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
Andy Dalton has done some nice things during his time in Cincinnati, but he’s also done some things that make you wonder why the Bengals haven’t upgraded from him yet. Or at least, tried to upgrade from him. Dalton is good enough to keep his job, but not entirely bad enough to grab some bench.
The Bengals missed an opportunity last year when I thought they should have drafted Lamar Jackson, but they shouldn’t pass on taking a quarterback here. Kyler Murray is being talked about as a potential No. 1 overall pick, so to get him at No. 11, is a bit of a steal. At the least, it mitigates a bit of the risk when taking a quarterback at the top of the draft.
Murray has game-changing talent and despite being 5-10 and 207 pounds, possesses a cannon for an arm that hasn’t had any issues with getting passes batted down at the line due to his lack of height. The Bengals need a refresh and a face of the franchise to invigorate the fanbase. The drafting of Murray would accomplish both. There would be millions of Murray jerseys in the stands and around the Queen City.
A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd would fully endorse this pick and would make the Bengals a fun watch to see what Murray can do.
