NHL DFS Man Advantage is back for a special Playoff Edition for tonight’s 4 game NHL Playoff slate. I am going to try to bring you a few special NHL playoff editions while NASCAR takes a break for the Easter holiday this week. I am going to change-up the format of this article a little from the regular season and give you a peek of what I am working on to change this for the better for 2019-2020.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

Boston @ Toronto

Projected Goal Total: 6

Washington @ Carolina

Projected Goal Total: 6

Nashville @ Dallas

Projected Goal Total: 5

Calgary @ Colorado

Projected Goal Total: 6

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – APRIL 13: Wayne Simmonds #17 of the Nashville Predators is hit by a puck while jumping in front of goalie Ben Bishop #30 of the Dallas Stars during the first period in Game Two of the Western Conference First Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Bridgestone Arena on April 13, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. NHL DFS Goaltenders:

Stud Goalie of the Night:

Ben Bishop – $7,500

Bishop is my favorite goalie on this slate in Game 3 of a 1-1 series against Nashville. Dallas returns home with a split  and will look to take the lead in this series and Bishop will have to be as good as he was in the first two games to make that happen. Bishop made 70 saves combined in the first 2 games of this series and allowed just 2 goals in each game. Nashville was 19th in the NHL in goals for this season (only the Islanders and Dallas were lower ranked) with 2.88 goals per game.

Other Option: Braden Holtby ($8,300)

GPP Option of the Night:

Philipp Grubauer – $7,200

Grubauer really found his game at the end of the regular season for Colorado, finishing his last 11 games with a 8-1-2 record and an incredible .954 SV%. After a great start to the first half of game 1, Grubauer fell apart in the latter half of the game, but he had a great bounce back game in game 2 stopping 35 of 37 shots and earned 8 DKFP. Now Colorado comes home with a tied series and a chance to take the series lead on Monday night

CALGARY, AB – APRIL 13: JT Compher #37 of the Colorado Avalanche celebrates after scoring his team’s second goal against the Calgary Flames in Game Two of the Western Conference First Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Scotiabank Saddledome on April 13, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. NHL DFS Line Stacks:

Top Line

Washington Capitals 1 –  Alexander Ovcechkin ($7,600), Nicklas Backstrom ($6,100), Tom Wilson ($4,800)

This line was one of the best in the regular season and has continued its dominance thus far in round one of the playoffs. These 3 have combined for 5 goals and 4 assists in just 2 games for Washington with Backstrom leading the team with 3 goals and an assist. All three play on the Caps power play units as well

Value Line

Colorado Avalanche 3 – JT Compher ($3,500), Derick Brassard ($2,800), Matt Nieto ($2,500)

After getting shutout in game 1 Colorado bounced back with 3 goals and a win in game 2, and this line was responsible for 2 of the 3 goals. Compher and Nieto both scored in game 2. Brassard and Compher both play on the Av’s power play units

Other Lines to consider: Boston 1, Toronto 1 and 2, Calgary 1, Nashville 2, Dallas 2

All the lines listed above are good plays, but I decided to pick the two I broke down as my favorites but don’t think that any of the other lines are bad or poor plays just because they are listed in the “other” section

BOSTON, MA – APRIL 11: William Nylander #29 of the Toronto Maple Leafs scores in the second period of a game against the Boston Bruins in Game One of the Eastern Conference First Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at TD Garden on April 11, 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts. NHL DFS Value Forwards:

William Nylander – $4,500

Nylander has points in both of the Leafs first 2 games with a goal and an assist, and is averaging 3.75 DKFP per game

Lars Eller – $4,000

Eller centers the Caps 3rd line with Jakub Vrana and Brett Connollyas well as the Caps 2nd PP unit. Eller picked up a goal in game 1 and has 5 SOG and 2 BS in the first 2 games of this series

Lucas Wallmark – $3,100

Wallmark has been arguably the Canes best played in this series with 1 goal and 2 assists in the first 2 games of this series.

These 3 guys are good plays to fit in with your line stacks mentioned on the previous page.

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – APRIL 13: Cale Makar #16,Jake McLaughlin #27 and Marco Bozzo #15 of the Massachusetts Minutemen react to the loss to the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs during the 2019 NCAA Frozen Four the championship game at KeyBank Center on April 13, 2019 in Buffalo, New York. The Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs defeated Massachusetts Minutemen 3-0 to win the national title. NHL DFS – Top Defensemen

Obviously guys like Mark Giordano ($6,300), John Carlson ($6,100), Tyson Barrie ($5,300), and Morgan Rielly ($5,100) are some of the top power play defensemen to use on this slate so I won’t waste your time discussing them, but instead try to give you some other plays who you could pair with one of these guys.

More from FanSided

Miro Heiskanen – $4,500

Heiskanen was held off the score sheet in game 2 after picking up a goal and an assist in the first game of the series. Heiskanen is on the Stars 2nd power play unit with Esa Lindell

Rasmus Andersson – $3,000

Andersson plays on the point for the Flames second power play unit with T.J. Brodie on the other point. After ending the regular season with no points in back to back games, Andersson has a goal and an assist in the first games of this series with Colorado.

Cale Makar – $2,500

Makar is joining the Av’s for game 3 tonight it would seem after winning the Hobey Baker award as the best player in College Hockey and playing for the National Title, but ultimately falling to UM-Duluth 3-0 on Saturday. It is unknown where Makar fits in with the Av’s yet, but we should get a better idea after morning skate today.
