FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – April 16, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,667
Damian Lillard (vs OKC – $9,700): Needs 43.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 43.8 fantasy points against Oklahoma City. You can always spend more and go with Russell Westbrook because I expect OKC to hit more shots and Westbrook to get more assists. But Lillard will have to continue to be great, probably even better than he was in Game 1. And we know he can do it. I’m not doubting Lillard against this matchup. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
Jamal Murray (vs SA – $7,700): Needs 34.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 35.4 fantasy points against San Antonio. Kyle Lowry will be better in Game 2 if you want to play that card. But Murray has been good against the Spurs all season and I know he’ll score at least two points. The shots will continue to be there for him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value PG
Players costing $6,667 or under
D.J. Augustin (at TOR – $6,200): Needs 27.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.4 fantasy points against Toronto. I’m not fully sold on the Magic after Game 1 because as we saw with the Sixers and Nets, the better team finds a way to win Game 2. And the Raptors are the better team. But Augustin is not afraid and he will continue to get the minutes and opportunities. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
Fred VanVleet (vs ORL – $4,800): Needs 21.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15.9 fantasy points against Orlando. You can grab either of the Spurs point guards and feel comfortable at getting value. You can even pair and take your chances. But as I just said, The Raptors will be better. And VanVleet will find a way to make an impact in this game. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
