NHL DFS Man Advantage is back for a special Playoff Edition for tonight’s 4 game NHL Playoff slate. I am going to try to bring you a few special NHL playoff editions while NASCAR takes a break for the Easter holiday this week. I am going to change-up the format of this article a little from the regular season and give you a peek of what I am working on to change this for the better for 2019-2020.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

Tampa Bay @ Columbus

Projected Goal Total: 6

NY Islanders @ Pittsbugh

Projected Goal Total: 5.5

Winnipeg @ St. Louis

Projected Goal Total: 5.5

San Jose @ Vegas

Projected Goal Total: 6.5

TAMPA, FL – APRIL 12: Andrei Vasilevskiy #88 of the Tampa Bay Lightning reacts after a goal by Columbus Blue Jackets during the first period in Game Two of the Eastern Conference First Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Amalie Arena on April 12, 2019 in Tampa, Florida. NHL DFS – Goaltenders:

Stud Goaltender of the Night –

Andrei Vasilevskiy ($7,900)

I am sure I am not the only one surprised by how Columbus has been decimating the Presidents Trophy winners this series. That being said, I just can’t see Tampa getting swept and if they are going to win at least one game in this series it starts with Vasilevskiy.

Other Options: Robin Lehner ($7,400), Matt Murray ($8,000)

GPP Goaltender of the Night –

Martin Jones ($7,200)

Jones hasn’t been at his best this playoffs, but he has the ability to steal game 4 for the Sharks. In game 3 Jones faced 40 shots, but did allow 6 goals in making 34 saves to a 2.8 DKFP total. He will have to be better and Vegas will pepper him with enough shots to make him a viable option. I think San Jose steals back home ice and Jones picks up a 30 save win.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – DECEMBER 16: Jordan Eberle #7 of the New York Islanders is congratulated by teammae Mathew Barzal #13 after Eberle scored the game winning goal in overtime against the Los Angeles Kings on December 16, 2017 at Barclays Center in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The New York Islanders defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in overtime. NHL DFS – Line Stacks:

Top Line of the Night –

NY Islanders 1 – Anders Lee ($5,200), Mathew Barzal ($5,700), Jordan Eberle ($4,900)

This line has absolutely decimated the Penguins are one of the main reasons why the Islanders have a 3-0 series lead. Even though it’s the longest of long shots you need to just put the Penguins away tonight and the Isles will need a stellar game from Robin Lehner and they’ll need this line to keep rolling. In the 3 games thus far they have combined for 4 goals and 8 assists for a total of 12 points.

Value Line of the Night –

St. Louis 3 –Robert Thomas ($2,700), Tyler Bozak ($4,500), Patrick Maroon ($3,000)

St. Louis has a 2-1 series lead and they have done it without their top guys putting the puck in the net. My favorite line from St. Louis is their second line, but they don’t qualify as a value line, so I landed on the Blues 3rd line. These 3 have combined for 4 points in 3 games with Maroon picking up a goal and an assist, Bozak a goal, and Thomas an assist. These three are also the forwards for the Blues 2nd PP unit, and with the way Winnipeg is going to the box so far they will get some more opportunities in game 4.

Other Options: St. Louis 2, Tampa Bay 2, Pittsburgh 1, Vegas 1 and 2, Winnipeg 1, Columbus 1

COLUMBUS, OH – APRIL 14: Oliver Bjorkstrand #28 of the Columbus Blue Jackets celebrates after scoring a power play goal during the second period of Game Three of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on April 14, 2019 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. NHL DFS – Value Forwards:

Oliver Bjorkstrand – $4,300

After being held off the board in game one, Bjorkstrand has points in back to back games with an assist in game 2, and a goal in game 3. Because of his play, Bjorkstrand is now on the Jackets top line with Artemi Panarin ($6,200) and Pierre-Luc Dubois ($4,700).

J.T. Miller – $3,700

Miller has 2 assists in this series thus and has a 3 DKFP per game. Even though Miller was held off the score sheet in game 3, but if Tampa wants to hold on in this series EVERYONE need to contribute, even the 3rd line of Miller, Alex Killorn ($3,500), and Anthony Cirelli ($4,000) – * Note * Killorn may miss game four if he does Ryan Callahan ($2,700) is expected to take his place.

There is not really much value in my opinion outside of the players I mentioned above and from St. Louis 3rd line, and Oskar Sundqvist ($3,400)

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – APRIL 14: Barclay Goodrow #23 of the San Jose Sharks and Shea Theodore #27 of the Vegas Golden Knights go after the puck in the first period of Game Three of the Western Conference First Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at T-Mobile Arena on April 14, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. NHL DFS – Power Play Defensemen

Like last night I will not be going over the obvious plays like the Sharks combo, Alex Pietrangelo ($6,000), and Kris Letang ($6,300), but instead give you some power play defensemen who may go over looked but can still have immense value at a much lower price tag.

Shea Theodore – $5,200

Theodore is coming of a career game with 3 assists, giving him 4 total assists during the playoffs so far. In this series Theodore is averaging over 20 minutes of TOI per game and has a 3.5 DKFP per game average.

Mikhail Sergachev – $4,500

Sergachev has a goal and an assist in 3 games in this series thus far and his placement here tonight is pending the Victor Hedman injury. If Hedman is out Sergachev will see PP time and a big bump in his minutes. With Hedman out in game 3 Sergchev, who was averaging 16 minutes per game, saw a 6 minutes increase up to 22 minutes in game 3.
