6 memorable moments of Dean Ambrose’s WWE career
3. Return and reunion
After eight months away from the ring to repair a “high-grade triceps tendon injury,” Dean Ambrose finally returned to the WWE. During his time away, Ambrose former Shield teammate Seth Rollins found himself pitted against the pairing of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, who had recently made his return to WWE as well.
Outnumbered and often on the defensive it only made sense that Rollins found himself some back-up. The speculation was that “The Lunatic Fringe” would be the man to fend off “The Scottish Psychopath.”
Ambrose’s time away from the ring marked the first major setback in his career. He underwent surgery to repair the torn tricep which then became exacerbated by a very dangerous staph infection. As one of WWE’s top workers, and a favorite of the fans, anticipation of his return was at an all time high. So when Rollins announced that Ambrose would be around to have his back during an episode of Monday Night Raw the crowd was overjoyed. The four men had a fun program together. As some of the top workers in the business, they played off each other’s strengths well. Ambrose, appearing in the best shape of his career, seemed to slide back into the groove of things without missing a step.
