NBA DFS Guards:

James Harden, HOU ($10,700)

The top of the position, have to love James Harden tonight. The price tag is rising but James Harden scored 58 DraftKings points in just 33 minutes of action in Game 1. Harden is able to get to the rim at will, nearly posted a triple double in three quarters. I expect this game to be closer today, making James Harden my ideal spend up today.

Donovan Mitchell, UTA ($8,000)

The NBA playoffs is literally all about doing the opposite of the field. Yesterday, I got on Kyle Lowry, coming off his worst game of the season, the day before, Ben Simmons. These are the best players in the world, they want to show up, they do not want to get embarrassed. Donovan Mitchell wants to dominate this game and he is going to have to if they want to compete against Houston today. Plus, Mitchell’s price tag falls $300 cheaper than Kyrie Irving. I do not believe he is going to be popular.

Reggie Jackson, DET ($5,200)

I do not like recommending Reggie Jackson but without Blake Griffin the production is there. Jackson see a 4% usage bump without Blake Griffin on the floor. Jackson is still not my favorite play on the slate, in a single lineup, probably won’t get here I just question the upside. Going to have to play really well though in order for this game to stay close and I simply don’t expect it to be close.

Eric Gordon, HOU ($4,800)

For the price, Gordon is simply too cheap. He is capable of getting hot from 3 at any point and rattling off 7-8 three pointers. Gordon is going to get 30-plus minutes and for the price he is simply too cheap. Would recommend him for any format.

Luke Kennard, DET ($4,100)

If Blake is out, Kennard sees the second biggest bump of production on the Pistons bench. Kennard sort of played above his head in Game 1, however, he did play 28 minutes and if he is going to get that kind of run he quickly becomes a lock in every format.

Value:

George Hill, MIL ($3,800)

This is my favorite value play on the slate that is definitely going to go overlooked. Hill played 23 minutes and put up 25 DraftKings points in Game 1 of the playoffs. The minutes are there, Hill is comfortable in the playoffs and he will be able to produce 6x-7x value on every slate.

NBA DFS Forwards:

Giannis Antetokoumpo, MIL ($10,500)

If the game was even going to stay close for 3.5 quarters I think that Giannis would have a decent chance to score 70-80-plus fantasy points. The only issue is the spread is 15-points. In 23 minutes, Giannis had 54 DraftKings points. Hard to envision paying $10,500 for a player that is seeing under 25 minutes, but Giannis is a different animal. Upside is slightly limited but from a raw scoring perspective, he is going to easy score the most fantasy points at the position.

More from FanSided

Derrick Favors, UTA  ($5,400)

I like Favors in this matchup, the Rockets simply has nobody that can matchup with Favors that can contain him. Really surprised that Utah didn’t try to capitalize on this situation throughout the game. Favors had 27.5 DraftKings points in 24 minutes. Favors is in play, especially if the minutes tick up.

Gordon Hayward, BOS ($5,300)

Hayward had a strong performance in terms of fantasy production last game but he had a brutal shooting night going 4-of-12 from the field. If Hayward is hitting more shots he’s easily going to cross the 30 DraftKings points threshold and he’s simply way too cheap. Lock in Hayward to any format as he is guaranteed to play 30-plus minutes.

Sterling Brown, MIL ($4,300)

Brown definitely played above his head last game, posting 34 DraftKings points in 25 minutes. I do not expect 34 DraftKings points again but I think Brown does have a decent shot at 25 DraftKings points at his price tag. Brown is playable in all formats on this slate as salary relief.

Value:

Pat Connaughton, MIL ($3,900)

I do not like predicting blowouts, however, this game is going to blow out. Connaughton should get the opportunity to play the entire fourth quarter as a focal point in the offense. I could see him playing close to 30-minutes again tonight. Connaughton is too cheap and is in play in all formats.

Thon Maker, DET ($3,600)

This is why it is important to watch games. Watching this game showed that Maker kind of got unlucky, and if Blake Griffin is going to be out, Maker is likely in play again. If Griffin is out, I will imagine that Maker is going to be heavily owned which I don’t think he should be but he did get unlucky and is a nice salary relief at a poor position. Maker went 0-6 on wide open three pointers last game. If he even makes two three-pointers He is at 18 DraftKings Points.

NBA DFS Center:

Clint Capala, HOU ($7,000)

Capala is a strong play in every format. The pick-and-roll with Harden and Chris Paul is tough to defend and while the Jazz are a great defensive team, Capala has been able to outproduce this salary in every game against Utah this season.

Brook Lopez, MIL ($5,800)

To much of my surprise nobody is playing Brook Lopez in this matchup, which is crazy. Drummond simply cannot cover him. In five games this season, Lopez is averaging 29 DraftKings points against the Pistons. Lopez got there with only taking 7 shots in the first game.

Overall Slate Breakdown:

Personal recommendation is starting the lineups with Giannis and Harden tonight, giving you an average salary of $4,800 per position which is extremely doable on this slate. The mid-range players do not really intrigue me. Kyrie Irving lineup do, however, I typically don’t go there in a low-scoring game and everyone healthy. I’m playing Harden and Giannis and playing value.
