MLB Bets – Wednesday April 17 – Rangers Roll On
By John Fazio
Good day from MLB Bets central. Yesterday (Tuesday) plays put out on twitter by MLB Bets did very well going 4-1, winning 3.4 units.
Using 1 unit per bet as the base and allowing for the lay and take, MLB Bets has reached a season high of +16.79 units. Hopefully today can produce another winner, so here we go – all times Eastern.
San Francisco (+1.25) upsets Washington, 7:05 pm
The Nationals are doing okay this year and have the overall stats leadership on the Giants. They are not matching up well with them however and MLB Bets says they will lose again today.
Jeff Samardzija starts for San Francisco and he is doing great this year. With an ERA of 1.62 he’s had 2 quality starts and is in good form.
Jeremy Hellickson goes for Washington after posting a great pitching line himself last time out. However he has been inconsistent and needs more work as a starter to back from a money standpoint. The Giants are the play today.
Cubs (-1.53) slam the Marlins, 7:10 pm
It’s unusual for MLB Bets to play a line worse than -1.40 juice. The Marlins make that possible by not scoring.
As of now Miami has the worst offense in baseball having scored a total of 48 runs. They have allowed 91 making them the worst run differential team in baseball at -43. As of now in most games they simply are unable to compete.
Add to that Cole Hamels starts for the Cubs and is getting better as the season rolls on. He has gone from a bad first start to a quality 2nd start and his last time out went 8 complete innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run, striking out 6 without issuing a walk.
Sandy Alcantara goes for Miami and he has been the opposite. His first tilt was great to the last time out where he pitched 5 innings allowing 11 hits and 6 runs. Today MLB Bets wants Chicago laying the juice.
MLB Bets To Win – Diamondbacks rattle the Braves
Arizona (+150) is a slight favorite to beat Atlanta
Arizona has a slightly better than 50-50 chance to beat Atlanta. Getting a nice +1.50 juice makes this a strong value play.
Both these starting pitchers, Zack Godley for Arizona and Kevin Gausman for the Braves, are up and down, all or nothing type of hurlers. While there is no way to tell which pitcher will show up, the dog is getting enough of a discount to become an official play.
This also makes playing the total difficult for those looking at that part of the wager, although Atlanta is a good hitters park overall. For MLB Bets, it’s the Diamondbacks plus the money.
Toronto (+1.27) throttles Minnesota again, 7:40 pm
The Blue jays are sailing along nicely in Minnesota. MLB Bets wants to ride that wave for at least another day.
Toronto is a streaky team when it comes to series play. They are matching up well against the Twins and there’s no evidence to suggest that will change today.
Trent Thornton goes for the Blue Jays. He pitched 2 quality starts before getting shelled by Tampa Bay. He looks to get back on track here.
Jake Odorizzi starts for the Twins. He has a good ERA at home and a very bad ERA on the road so he could upset the apple cart here, but MLB Bets believes the plus match-up Toronto enjoys will be enough to win this game. Toronto is the play tonight.
MLB Bets To Win – Rangers bewilder the Angels
Texas (-1.18) massacres LAA again, 8:05 pm
Texas has proven they can hit at home and yesterday got a complete game shutout from their starter. This leaves the bullpen fresh and the atmosphere positive.
MLB Bets thinks it’s time to get on the Ranger bandwagon as prognostications of a terrible season for Texas are falling quickly by the wayside. The fans are into the action and the players are starting to believe they can compete with any team. That is the first crucial step to a dark horse making a run.
Matt Harvey goes for the Angels sporting a hefty 10+ ERA on the season. Worse yet his last 2 starts, both at home, were very bad.
Lance Lynn gets the nod for the Rangers. The former Cardinal has produced 2 excellent starts in a row and looks to build on that good work.
LAA is 2-8 in away games versus a right-handed pitcher while Texas is 4-1 at home against righties. They are 5-1 overall in their last 6 home games.
MLB Bets took a Texas future at 350-1 to win the World Series as a flyer. While there is nowhere near the evidence yet to claim Texas is a legitimate contender, this team has risen from the ashes before and could pose a threat very soon in their division.
MLB Bets Recap For Wednesday April 17th:
San Francisco +1.25
Chicago Cubs -1.53
Arizona +1.50
Toronto +1.27
Texas -1.18
NBA Bets unfortunately went 1-2 yesterday after it looked like the Spurs would be a winner at least to the spread if not the game at halftime. It’s the first losses this post season for the system. Watch Twitter for NBA Bets plays and keep finding us here on fantasycpr.
