7. Los Angeles Rams at Dallas Cowboys

It’s time for yet another playoff rematch as the Los Angeles Rams head to Jerry World for a showdown with America’s team. This hasn’t been much of a rivalry in recent years, but the Rams absolutely smoked the Cowboys in the divisional round last season, rushing for 273 yards in a 30-22 victory.

The Cowboys were a trendy pick in that game because people forgot how good the Rams were at the end of the season, and you can bet that head coach Jason Garrett has had the rematch circled on his calendar since the defeat. Dallas hasn’t advanced to the NFC title game since the mid-90’s, a trend they will hope to reverse this year on the strength of their defense and running game.

By winning the NFC East a year ago, Dallas locked in a first place schedule, including this rematch with the Rams. If these two teams can claim division titles once again, this matchup could be critical for playoff seeding, potentially even being the determining factor between who gets a first round bye and who has to play on wild card weekend.

This game should also have plenty of motivation for the Rams, who will be looking to rebound after their embarrassing offensive performance in Super Bowl LIII. A win over the Cowboys won’t bring back that Lombardi Trophy, but it could be a strong stepping stone on their way to a new one.
