NFL schedule 2019: Biggest game for all 32 teams
Baltimore Ravens: at Seattle Seahawks
The mid-season quarterback switch from Joe Flacco to Lamar Jackson completely changed the fate of the Baltimore Ravens. While Jackson has limits as a passer, Baltimore got hot down the stretch thanks to a run-heavy offense and reached the playoffs before losing to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Ravens were able to convince John Harbaugh to stick around as head coach, but cap concerns led to a mass exodus of talent from Baltimore’s vaunted defense. C.J. Mosley, Eric Weddle, and Terrell Suggs were among the veterans to leave Baltimore, and the Ravens used some of their savings to bring in Earl Thomas to anchor their secondary.
Thomas is coming off a broken leg, and he harbors plenty of ill will towards his old team, the Seattle Seahawks. It’s fitting that Baltimore goes to Seattle this season, giving Thomas a chance to enact a measure of revenge by wrecking the game for the Ravens.
The matchup with Seattle should also be important for Jackson, who needs to become more like Russell Wilson to have a long term future in this league. Jackson’s first showdown with Wilson will have huge playoff implications, so this game will be massive for both teams.
