Chicago Bears: at Philadelphia Eagles

The Chicago Bears were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL a year ago. A big trade prior to the season that added Khalil Mack to the defense revitalized the Monsters of the Midway, who throttled opposing offenses to help the Bears claim the NFC North title.

Chicago ended up hosting the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Wild Card weekend and had a chance to win the game late. Unfortunately for Bears’ fans, Cody Parkey missed a potential game-winning field goal, sending Chicago home despite a 12 win regular season.

Due to a fortunate turn of the schedule, these two teams play again this season, with the matchup shifting from Soldier Field to the Linc in Philadelphia. A playoff rematch is always a big deal to NFL teams, but this one should be even bigger considering how the last meeting ended.

There is also a significant question about whether or not the Bears’ season was a fluke due to sketchy quarterback play from Mitchell Trubisky. Picking up a win in Philadelphia would go a long way to addressing those concerns.
