Welterweight champion Terence Crawford defends his title against Amir Khan. It’s a pay-per-view bout. Here’s all you need to know for fight night.

WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford (34-0, 25 KOs) defends his title for the second time against former super lightweight titlist Amir Khan (33-4, 20 KOs) on Saturday, April 20. Crawford’s talent combined with Khan’s previous promise elevate this to a pay-per-view bout, although it may not be competitive.

Crawford is ranked by Boxrec.com as the second-best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. He’s riding a five-fight knockout streak. In his last performance in October, he stopped then-unbeaten Jose Benavidez Jr. in Round 12.

Khan was a highly-revered amateur world champion. Once turning professional, it looked like the sky was the limit for Khan until he was flattened in Round 1 by Breidis Prescott in 2008. Most chalked Khan’s first loss up as a fluke.

After the Prescott debacle, Khan went on an eight-fight winning streak, beating legendary fighters such as Marcos Maidana, Marco Antonio Barrera, Paulie Malignaggi and Zab Judah. Unfortunately, Khan’s chin proved to be his fatal flaw.

He went on to be knocked out against Danny Garcia and Canelo Alvarez. Khan is an immensely talented boxer, but his defensive skills are lacking, and he has a hard time absorbing punishment from power punchers.

Since being knocked out by Alvarez in 2016, he has won two fights against C-level opposition. He hopes to shock the world against Khan, but oddsmakers don’t think he stands much of a chance.

The Sportsbook Review has Khan ranging from a 10-1 to a 15-1 underdog according to all the major betting brokerages. There’s not a lot of faith in Khan to pull off the upset and for a good reason. His last notable win came against Chris Algieri in 2015.

Despite the apparent mismatch, Top Rank has upgraded Crawford vs. Khan to a pay-per-view match. If you want to watch the fight, it’s going to cost you $69.99. There are several ways to order the fight.

You can purchase the bout through most cable providers. If you don’t have cable, you can stream the fight on all devices that have internet capabilities. To stream the contest on your smart device, download the FITE.TV app. You can also order it through FITE.TV on the internet through your computer or other streaming devices.

The undercard features young, talented boxers including Teofimo Lopez, Shakur Stevenson and Felix Verdejo. Most of their fights appear to be showcase bouts, but Verdejo was surprisingly bested by Ines Torres in 2018 by 10th-Round stoppage.
