2. Jerry Tillery

If you’re drafting based on pure talent then Tillery should easily be a Top 10 pick. Unfortunately for him, his Notre Dame tape shows him to be a prospect without a great motor. His immense talent still makes him a great pick at the bottom of Round 1.

A lot of scouts see Tillery strictly as a nose tackle at the next level, but he’s got the athleticism to play inside in a four man front as well. Again, the key with Tillery is to teach him what it means to play hard every snap. If someone can get him motivated, he’s got a chance to become a monster at the next level.

Most mocks have Tillery falling into the second round, but there’s a strong chance he gets snapped up at the end of Day One. Defensive tackles with his level of star potential are hard to come by. There will be quite a few defensive coaching staffs who like their chances of coaching Tillery up into stardom.

The Chiefs need to find difference makers up front and Tillery has a chance to become a star. It’s easy to envision Reid and his coaching staff pushing for him to be the guy at No. 28.
