6. Longest title reign

As of March 30, 2019, Rousey added another top honor to her list of achievements when she earned the record for the longest reign as Raw Women’s Champion.

She initially won the title at SummerSlam by defeating Alexa Bliss. “The Goddess” had cashed in her Money in the Bank win to slip into Rousey’s match against Nia Jax and walk away with the title herself. This offered a little more spice to Rousey’s title hunt, which now saw her seeking revenge for Bliss’ interference in her match, coupled with an assault by Bliss using the Money in the Bank briefcase.

The match itself was nothing but a bonafide beat down with Bliss offering no offense save a comical reverse chinlock which Rousey allowed her to put on. Rousey’s application of her trademark armbar for the win was the only highlight of the title fight thanks to Bliss’ double-jointed elbows. As Rousey pulled back on her arm, Bliss bent her elbow back in the reverse direction making it appear as if Rousey had broken her arm. Rousey left with the Raw Women’s Title held high over her head.

She would remain Raw Women’s Champion for over 223 days, breaking the record that Alexa Bliss previously set. A lot of people jeered at the fact Rousey received a title match, and subsequently won the championship, just four months into her WWE career. But the answer to that is that Rousey being on top was good for business. To Rousey’s credit, she’d be a fighting champion who defended her title at almost every major event and even instituting her own post-PPV open challenge on Raw where she offered an opportunity to any willing challenger.
