Report: Darren Till arrested in Spain after stealing taxi, trashing hotel room

One time UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till has reportedly been arrested in Spain after allegedly trashing a hotel room and stealing a taxi.

UFC welterweight Darren Till has gotten himself into some hot water when he was reportedly arrested in Tenerife, Spain after allegedly trashing a hotel and stealing a taxi. The report comes from British tabloid the Daily Mail which reports that Till, along with others, was taken into custody in the Costa Adeje area.

According to reports, police arrested Till after he allegedly jumped into the taxi and drove away while the driver was putting the luggage in the trunk. Additional Spanish reports claim that Till, and others, were staying at a nearby lodging and “broke furniture and emptied extinguishers.”

The entire incident was said to have happened in the early hours of Thursday morning, Spanish time. Four others were arrested alongside Till, those names have yet to be released.

Tenerife is an island in Spain, Till resides in the United Kingdom.

Till, 26, went undefeated in the first five years of his career. He was on a meteoric rise through the UFC rankings and was granted a shot at the welterweight title against Tyron Woodley in Sept. 2018. He suffered his first professional loss when Woodley submit Till via a second-round D’Arce choke. Till would go on to lose another when he dropped his comeback fight to Jorge Masvidal via a second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night: Till vs. Masvidal in March.

This is the not the first incident involving Till, he was also allegedly involved in a fight outside of a club in Liverpool, England in 2018.
