5.  Anderson Tejeda, SS/2B

Anderson Tejeda has the glove and arm strength to play essentially anywhere in the infield, but with his bat speed and fluid swing, he is starting to develop into the all-around player the Rangers thought he could be. The 20-year-old clubbed 19 home runs last season in A+ but his slash line of .259/.331/.439 still resembled a player who was young and had some work to do.

However, the infielder has been raking to start 2019, improving his slash line to .386/.440/.636 with two homers in 12 games. It’s a small sample size, but Tejeda looks like he’s getting closer to a promotion to Double-A. He’s probably a year away from making his MLB debut, but if he continues to hit at this clip and the Rangers continue to struggle it could allow him an opportunity to play this season. It may seem like a long shot, but Tejeda is special enough for the Rangers to at least consider it should he continue his hot start to 2019.
