At No. 16, we come to the legendary tag team of the Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal, who were known in the WWE as the Legion of Doom. Depending on what organizations you count, they have had over 15 reigns as tag team champions. This is an accomplishment in the business that possibly cannot be rivaled by anyone other than the Dudleys, Hardy Boyz or Steiner Brothers, putting the LoD in elite company with arguably the greatest of all time.

An iconic tag team also deserved an iconic theme, and the Road Warriors, prior to their WWE run, came out to “Iron Man” from Black Sabbath. The crowds were deafening as this tag team made its way to the ring to take their opponents’ heads off, to the point where their crowd reactions were popularly referred to as a “Road Warrior pop,” terminology that is still used today by wrestling fans.

Their WWE theme song, “What a Rush by Jimmy Hart and JJ Maguire, while not as memorable as a Black Sabbath track, was an amazing theme for that time in the WWE. The opening of the theme with Hawk screaming “OHHHH WHAT A RUSH!!” got crowds on their feet and amped up ready to see the Legion of Doom in action.

Whether it was the spiked shoulder pads, coming out on motorcycles or being flanked by “Precious” Paul Ellering, there were a lot of things special about this tag team’s entrance, making it memorable all these years later.
