Who’s next on our countdown you ask? Well, the entrances that defined the Monday Night Wars continue on as we hit No. 13 with arguably one of the most dominant professional wrestlers of all time in Bill Goldberg. Yep, he’s next.

While the walk through the backstage area has been done before (and nowadays done very heavily by Ultimate Fighting Championship), no one quite captures the magic of the backstage entrance quite as Goldberg did. From the point where he would slam his head off a locker or door before bursting into the hallway flanked by security guards, you knew that you were watching someone important make his way to the ring.

His entrance didn’t stop there; the pyrotechnics show on the stage was a sight to behold as Goldberg stood in the middle of all of it, breathing the smoke in and out of his nose. How he could do that on a weekly basis and withstand it and all the burns he must have felt from the pyro is beyond us, it was a special entrance for a special athlete.

Goldberg’s streak took him to 173 straight wins before suffering his first loss, a record that no one ever thought would be replicated, until Asuka did it recently in the black and gold brand of NXT. Nevertheless, it was special then and remains special today. Goldberg’s last return to the WWE saw him defeat Brock Lesnar in less than 90 seconds and was a moment that no one saw coming. It was special, just like his entrance. Goldberg’s mystique and character will live in the WWE Hall of Fame forever.
