Avengers Endgame is very, very long so prepare yourself for a serious ride.
Avengers: Endgame is currently posting a runtime of three hours and one minute. (Glad they counted that one minute!) With ads and trailers, that means you’re looking at a chill three hours and 30 minutes in the movie theater.
So, plan accordingly. Know yourself and how your body will react to, uh, drinking or eating before/during/after Endgame.
On a more serious note, three hours gives the Russo brothers a lot of time to wrap up the Infinity Saga. The remaining Avengers have to assemble, Captain Marvel has to meet and ingratiate herself to the gang, they all need to fight Thanos at least once and since a number of snapped Avengers are prominently featured on posters and in the cast listing, it seems likely that their return (sorry, the return is inevitable for most of them) will not be the last scene. So. Three hours. Maybe that’s fair.
Still, three hours is an awfully long time for a movie, even with creep of runtimes pushing most movies up to two hours at least. (The problem is real with TV too, most egregiously on Netflix series and, well, Game of Thrones.)
Three hours is almost as long as a professional football game and longer than a professional basketball game. Three hours is how long it takes to drive from Philadelphia to Washington, DC. Or across Los Angeles in traffic. Which is to say, there are both better and worse uses of your time.
