MLB Bets – Tuesday April 23 – Twins On The Move
By John Fazio
Good day from MLB Bets. The Twins are making their move and proving they are for real. Houston has now dropped 3 in a row.
MLB Bets yesterday lost the 2 games recommended with 1 rain out. Using 1 unit as a base and allowing for lay and take, Monday the system lost 2 units making the season total plus 20.01 units.
Okay yesterday’s gone, let’s focus on today’s plays. All times Eastern.
Detroit (+2.00) can beat Boston, 1:10 pm
This was the rain out game recommended yesterday. Today this is game 1 of a doubleheader.
If these are the same 2 pitchers matching up today, ( Matthew Boyd vs Chris Sale), the prediction remains valid. Chris Sale has been a big disappointment for the Red Sox hurling 1 quality start in 4 tries. Matthew Boyd for the Tigers has a 2.33 ERA in his last 3 starts.
With such a disparity in the pitching line and getting 2-1, Detroit is the play regardless of the perception around this game. Last year Boyd started at Boston and the Tigers won 7-2.
Arizona (+1.12) continues their dominance over Pittsburgh, 6:40 pm
Arizona has now won 7 games in a row when playing at Pittsburgh, including sweeping the 4 game series last year as well as the comeback victory last night. MLB Bets likes to stay with a trend in motion.
Luke Weaver goes for the Diamondbacks holding a 2.76 ERA over his last 3 starts. This includes his last start at Atlanta where he threw 5 innings allowing 4 hits and no runs while striking out 9 and walking one. For those playing fantasy he makes for a good mid-tier option.
Trevor Williams takes the hill for the Pirates. He’s a solid performer yet not terrific, giving his team quality with an ERA of 3.44 over his last 3 starts.
MLB Bets believes Arizona should be the favorite here. Let’s take the small plus money on them.
Minnesota (+1.22) too much for Houston, 8:10 pm
The Twins are playing great baseball especially on the road. The pitching match-up favors Houston but the play remains Minnesota.
Minnesota is 4-0 recently against left-handed pitching while Houston is 0-4 versus right handers. MLB Bets wants to ride this mini trend.
Michael Pineda has been shelled in his last 2 starts both at home but has pitched well on the road. Last away start was at Philadelphia; a quality start that the Twins won 6-2.
MLB Bets Recap for Tuesday April 23rd:
Detroit +2.00
Arizona +1.12
Minnesota +1.22
