No. 1 overall recruit Bryan Bresee committed to Clemson and top quarterback recruit D.J. Uiagalelei could be soon following him to Death Valley.
Clemson is the reigning national champions and they could be the recruiting national champions too with the way the 2020 class is shaping up. The Tigers landed No. 1 overall player, Bryan Bresee, on Tuesday to bump them up to the nationās No. 1 recruiting class. And it has a chance to be the programās best class of all time if they can land No. 1 quarterback recruit D.J. Uiagalelei.
The 6-4, 240-pound signal-caller at St. Jon Bosco in Bellflower, Calif. is announcing his school of choice on May 5. The big question Clemson fans (and the rest of college football) wants to know is if Ugialelei will join Bresee at Clemson.
Uigalelei was in attendance for Clemsonās spring game earlier this month and the Tigers have shown themselves to be a destination for top quarterbacks. Last year, No. 1 overall recruit Trevor Lawrence went to Clemson and led the team the national championship. Before him, Deshaun Watson was shattering program records and going to two national championship games, winning one.
Uiagalelei could be the next five-star quarterback to call Clemson home, and heās already getting the recruiting pitch from Bresee.
Clearly, Clemson is interested in the rocket-armed Uiagalelei and heās interested in them.
He did also attend the Oregon spring game and after growing up as a fan of Marcus Mariota and Jeremiah Masoli there is a connection to the program. But is that enough to sway him to Eugene?
Unlikely.
Clemson is the team to beat for Uigalelei and second place isnāt really in the picture. WhenĀ Uiagalelei makes his decision public on May 5, Clemson fans should be expecting him to put a Clemson hat on his head and be the next quarterback recruit to join Dabo Swinneyās team.
