Does Captain America die in Avengers: Endgame?

We cannot stress this enough. This post contains an actual answer to whether Captain America dies in Avengers: Endgame, the 22nd installment in the MCU and the latest Marvel movie to hit the big screens. There is only so much space we can kill with this so please, do not read on if you do not really and truly want to know what happens to Cap in Endgame.

One last warning, and you had an ad break so there’s no way you could accidentally see. You had to scroll to get here and now we are going to tell you whether Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers dies in Avengers: Endgame.

Breathe easy, Cap is alive at the end of Avengers: Endgame. But that doesn’t mean his story line won’t still incite major, major waterworks. At the start of the film, Steve gets into a fight with Tony with regards to fighting Thanos and Steve and the remaining Avengers have to fight (and do successfully defeat) Thanos without Iron Man. But it’s revealed it’s impossible to reverse the snap, on account of Thanos destroyed the stones.

Five years later, Scott Lang finally escapes the Quantum Realm and they determine the move is to travel through time and space and collect stones and reverse the snap, then return to the stones to their original timelines. This goes relatively to plan, but not without drama, heartbreak and death. Eventually, Steve is the one who returns the stones and while he’s back in time, he decides to stay in the past. In the present, a very old Steve appears to pass the mantel of Captain America to Sam Wilson.

Steve Rogers, formerly Captain America, immortalized by Chris Evans, gets married and the movie ends with Steve and Peggy dancing. Alive and well.
