Every team had a chance to strike gold in the 2019 NFL Draft, but these five teams really botched their first round selections.

Fans of every NFL franchise entered Draft Night with dreams of their team selecting a future Pro Bowler who can lead them to multiple Super Bowl titles. Unfortunately, the chances of drafting a player who will flop at the next level is significantly higher.

Every front office executive around the league will tell fans about how they nailed their first round selection, but don’t listen to a word anyone associated with these five picks says. The following five picks represent the worst moves of the first round.

5. Josh Jacobs to the Raiders at No. 24

Drafting a running back in the first round is something that should almost never happen in the modern NFL. It certainly shouldn’t happen with a team like the Raiders who have so many needs on their roster.

Oakland did need to come out of this draft with a feature back, but they didn’t need to spend a first round selection on a player like Jacobs. He showed the ability to be a really tough runner at Alabama, but he’s not going to be a big-play threat for Jon Gruden’s offense. Everything about the Jacobs pick seems like a reach for the Raiders.
