Chaos reigns: 2019 NHL Playoffs the antithesis of NBA Playoffs

The top four seeds in the NHL playoffs don’t feel so good.
The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs saw the top four seeds lose in the first round for the first time. This is wildest NHL postseason ever and much better than what the NBA Playoffs are delivering.
Tampa Bay got the crazy started when they were swept by Columbus after tying an NHL record with 62 wins in the regular season. The top seed in the West, Calgary bowed out to Nathan MacKinnon and Colorado in five games.
It was clear after the top seeds lost in nine games that the postseason was going off the rails.
Tuesday night saw one of the most insane third periods in playoff history. San Jose scored four unanswered power play goals in 4:01 to take a 4-3 lead. Vegas scored with 40 seconds left to force overtime before San Jose finished off last year’s Western Conference champs.
Playoff overtime hockey is hell for people with high blood pressure.
Wednesday saw reigning Stanley Cup Champion Washington fall in Game 7 to Carolina. This is the first time the defending champion lost in the first round since the Chicago Blackhawks in 2016.

The best team wins every year. That doesn’t happen in the NHL.
