The Arizona Cardinals did what we all expected, select Kyler Murray with their first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Here’s how Twitter reacted.
The Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray were wedded in bliss at the 2019 NFL Draft.
This was not unexpected.
The Cardinals need a quarterback, and Murray has long been the consensus No. 1 pick. Yes, the NFL did try to create some drama as to whether or not Arizona would go with Murray, but, come on, we all knew the Cardinals had Murray in mind the entire time.
Murray is a quarterback that you simply don’t pass up, even if you had other quarterbacks in mind. More than anything, the Cardinals need star power, and Murray certainly brings that to the Valley of the Sun. So now that Murray is officially a Cardinal, Twitter — especially Cardinal Twitter — has gone out of their minds over this pick.
That reaction, alone, warrants its own story, and of course, we obligated the Cardinal faithful for this, mainly because it has been a while since they have gotten their own story on these pages.
So, without further ado, here are the best tweets from the Cardinals taking Murray. Grab some popcorn and enjoy.
Let’s start with the Murray haters, shall we?

Dang, hate much? The dude has yet to take the practice field, and folks are already predicting him to be a bust. Anyhoo, let’s leave Haterville and get into some more sensible tweets, shall we?
Pretty amazing that Kyler Murray was taken #1. No one had him in their first round when the college football season started.

(This is an astonishing feat, to be honest. I saw him play at Texas A&M, I thought he was on his way to cleaning bathrooms at DFW Airport. Now, look at him.)
