1. Florida OT Jawaan Taylor

After shutting down Josh Allen, the No. 7 overall pick in this year’s draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor put himself on the map as a star on a national scale – or as national as an offensive lineman can become.

Taylor was widely projected as a top 10 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, yet he somehow didn’t hear his name called in the first round. Even interior offensive linemen who weren’t as well-known heard their names called, whereas Taylor had to keep waiting; it’s left many NFL fans wondering just what the heck is up.

Assuming there isn’t more to the story with Taylor, he looks like a future star at the tackle position. Taylor was the MMQB’s top offensive lineman, and it was a sentiment echoed by other outlets. At 6’5″, 312 pounds, Taylor can move mountains, and he can elevate any team’s running game. With tackles at a premium and Taylor seemingly the premium tackle in this year’s draft, he seemed to have a chance of getting picked in the top half of the first round.

Expect to hear his name called quickly in the second round. Taylor seemed to be a target of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the pre-draft process, and they could really use a tackle in front of stopgap quarterback Nick Foles. Perhaps the Jaguars could put Allen and Taylor on the same team, pulling off quite the draft haul in the first and second rounds.
