Josh Rosen unfollows Arizona Cardinals on social media

Josh Rosen has been the subject of trade rumors and speculation for months. Now, he’s unfollowed Arizona Cardinal social media.

In response to Steve Keim’s massive mismanagement of the NFL Draft, 2018 10th overall draft pick Josh Rosen has unfollowed the Arizona Cardinals official social media accounts.

NFL Insider Ian Rapaport reported Friday morning that the quarterback had unfollowed the Cardinals on Instagram; later in the morning, he reported that Twitter was also on the unfollow list.

Arizona balked on Thursday night that they could decide to keep both Rosen and No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray on the roster for the 2019 season. That seemed improbable at the time of the pick, and still at the time of the press conference. Nonetheless, teams have to be taken at their word on these types of issues (until proven otherwise).

However, Rosen’s social media purge indicates that perhaps the public relations facade implemented by the Cardinals after round one was just posturing. Other NFL general managers and coaches likely already knew that, but can use the quarterback’s actions as a response to Keim’s continued requests for more draft picks in exchange for the young signal-caller.

The NFL Network reported this morning that the Cardinals were resolute to accept nothing less than a second round pick for Rosen. However, 15 hours ago the demand was a first round pick. The reality is that Arizona will have to accept whatever the best offer that they receive is, even if it’s a day three selection.

If all was well in the desert, Rosen and Murray could create a fascinating quarterback room for first-year NFL head coach Kliff Kingsbury as he deploys his spread offense on the league. Multiple quarterback sets, formations for each passer, etc. could all be on the table, and it would be a great deal of fun to watch from the outside.

However, if all was well in Glendale, Rosen would probably still be liking, loving and retweeting Cardinal posts; instead of clicking the unfollow button.
